FOOD- food is FUEL and I know we have all heard that so many times, but you really have to think about it to let it sink in. Our bodies are the only things that truly belong to us individually and we have the power to do whatever we want with them. We need to give our bodies the fuel it deserves so it can do its thing and let us LIVE. More importantly, we need to give our bodies the stuff that it can actually use to do these things. If we feed it junk, it will behave like junk, but if we feed it the nutrients it needs, it can actually do what its meant to do. I truly believe that eating healthily and eating clean, unprocessed and nutritious foods not only make our bodies feel their best, but our minds too. LISTEN to your body- its with you forever so treat it well.

FITNESS- Just as our bodies need fuel, our bodies need to release some of that fuel too. Exercise is SO important not only so our bodies can stay strong and function, but also, so our minds can relax too. When I exercise all my worries seem to go away. If I’ve had a stressful day, all I need to do is go for a quick run or head to the gym to lift some heavy weights and when I come back I feel SO refreshed as if the stress was never there. Exercise is not something to dread, it is something to free our minds and at the same time strengthen our bodies.

I try to live each day in the NOW. I feel like so many people worry about what happened yesterday or what will happen tomorrow, but honestly what good does that do? If you’re worrying about something tomorrow you are just going to waste the time when you could be enjoying yourself to then have to do the actual thing you’ve been dreading. You don’t get any happy moment in between if you waste the ‘happy time’ by worrying! It took me such a long time to realize this, but I am so glad I did. I am enjoying life more than I could have ever imagined. I no longer worry about the past nor the future- I am just happy to be me, right…now.

  1. Love this! Very well said. I try so hard to live in the now – having a lil kiddo helps, they’re VERY into “Right Now” .. so when I take the time ti stop and just BE with my lil man I get to live in the moment 🙂

  2. I don’t know how I’ve missed it before, but I absolutely love this! You are dead on about feeding your body junk and what it does for you mind and body. It took me a while to realize this, but I feel 110% better now that I eat a clean diet with minimally processed foods! I am all about living in the “now”. I’ve had a rough couple of years lately and have decided that the only thing that comes out of worrying about the future and dwelling on the past is a bottle of antidepressants!

  5. Loving your mantra! I agree that exercise is one of the best things you can do for yourself – it gets such a crap rep amongst lots of people our age. Btw the glove thingys you wear in your photos are awesome!
